If you’re an international student, you might be wondering what opportunities are available after graduation. Since Canada makes it easy for international students who abide by their study conditions to transition to permanent residence after graduation.
In most cases, international students who are eligible will be able to obtain a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) after graduation to gain some experience before deciding what to do next. The PGWP provides foreign students with an opportunity to gain valuable Canadian work experience.
Before obtaining the PGWP, our advice for international students is to get their credentials assessed by Immigration Refugee & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) approved organizations. This assessment can take several weeks or months in some situations, especially for professional programs.
If foreign students are getting close to finishing their programs, they can start preparing to take language tests, like IELTS or CELPIP general. Once international students get their credentials assessed and get a good score on their language test, they can now look for a job.
Babs International Consulting offers free consultation and in some cases comprehensive opinions on different immigration pathways for international students.
